Risk Factors for Perimegaprosthetic Infections After Tumor Resection.

چکیده
Periprosthetic joint infection remains one of the most challenging and pervasive complications following megaprosthetic replacement after tumor resection. The authors conducted a systematic review of the literature for clinical studies that reported a risk factor analysis for perimegaprosthetic joint infections. The search included English-language studies published up to July 2015. Eight studies fulfilled the inclusion criteria. Identified factors mostly related to both surgical procedure and hospitalization. Physicians should consider these results when discussing the outcomes of limb salvage surgery with patients and trying to reduce the overall burden of perimegaprosthetic joint infections. بررسی موارد و عوامل مؤثر در عود مننژیوم مغزی طی یک دوره 20 ساله
Background: Meningiomas are common benign tumors of the brain. Meningioma patients have optimal functional recovery after surgical removal of their tumors. Some patients experience recurrence months or years after surgical resection. In this study, we try to determine the prevalence of recurrent meningioma and the correlation between recurrence and certain factors. Methods: This retrospective ...

PURPOSE To investigate the associated risk factors and the prognostic impact of positive resection margins after endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) of early-stage gastric cancer. METHODS A retrospective analysis of prospectively collected data was performed on 319 consecutive lesions in 316 patients who underwent ESD. Age, gender, surgeons, lesion location, maximum diameter of resected sp...
متن کاملAnalysis of the recurrence risk factors for the patients with hepatocellular carcinoma meeting University of California San Francisco criteria after curative hepatectomy
Introduction Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most common cancers worldwide, especially in the Asia pacific area [1]. Liver transplantation is theoretically the best option because it cures both the tumor and the underlying liver disease. The overall survival rate at 5 years after liver transplantation was around 70-75% [2]. In contrast, 5-year survival rates after liver resection w...

Background: Giant cell tumor (GCT) of the bone is a benign neoplasm with local aggressive behavior. Distal ulna is a very rare place for GCT. Published studies have mainly focused on case reports, and thus there is no consistent treatment strategy for this tumor at this location. This retrospective study was conducted to evaluate the oncological and functional results of 2 di...

METHODS Between June, 1999 and June, 2009, 628 patients underwent anterior resection for rectal cancer. A retrospective study of the cases was performed to identify the risk factors for anastomotic leakage following the resection. RESULTS The overall incidence rate o...
